Welcome to Project Kenya

Volunteers Needed!

Registration for the 2007 trip has now closed, but you can now apply for the 2008 trip.

Skills for Living are a charity dedicated to helping those in need. The Kenya project is now in its third year and needs volunteers to help out.

Volunteers are required to help fundraise the building of up to 5 schools in remote areas of Western Kenya, as well as travel out to the region itself to assist with construction. No experience is required, other than a willingness to help. The funds needed are £2500 per person, which goes towards the cost of the buildings, as well as flights, shelter, food and all vehicles and equipment needed for the trip, which spans a total of 6-8 weeks.

If you're after an alternative holiday in decent weather with the chance to relax, this isn't for you. The trip will be hard work, your bedroom will be a tent, and your diet will largely be vegatables and rice. However it is incredibly rewarding, and is surely an experience that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

Anyone wishing to travel to Kenya will need to be available for 2 weeks at any time between June and August 2008 - dates will be confirmed nearer the time.

If you'd like to apply, the necessary forms are available in Microsoft Word (.doc) and Adobe Reader (.pdf) formats
